Delete your Wudd account

You can request deletion of your Wudd account at any time. Wudd is a business platform, so what happens after you request depends on which type of data is involved: identity data we control directly, workplace data your employer controls, and records the law requires us to keep.

How this works

Who owns what, under Saudi PDPL and GDPR

Wudd is a workplace platform used by employer organizations. Under data-protection law, your employer is the "controller" of HR-style data they collect about you on Wudd (recognitions, OKRs, performance entries, internal chats, and so on), and Wudd is the "processor" that stores and serves it on their behalf. Wudd is the controller of the account-identity layer: your login email, password, profile photo, device tokens, and personal preferences. When you ask for deletion, we delete the identity layer ourselves; we route the workplace layer to your employer's Wudd administrator, who decides what can be removed given Saudi labour-law obligations.

How to request

Two ways to start the request

You can submit a deletion request from inside the Wudd mobile app, or by writing to us directly. Both routes start the same workflow.

  1. 1.From the Wudd mobile app

Open the Wudd app on Android or iOS → Profile → Delete account. Read the confirmation notice, type your name to confirm, and submit. The app will open your email client pre-addressed to our deletion team with your account identifier attached; once you send the message, your local session is signed out automatically.

  2. 2.By email

If you have already uninstalled the app, or prefer to write to us directly, send an email to hello@wudd.net from the address registered on your Wudd account. Include the full name on the account and, if you remember it, the name of your employer organization on Wudd. We may ask one verification question before processing the request.

Direct request

The button below opens a pre-filled email to our deletion team. You can edit the message before sending. Sending from the email address registered on your account helps us verify the request faster.

Email hello@wudd.net
What happens

Three categories of data, three outcomes

The same deletion request triggers three different downstream actions, because the legal basis for processing each category is different.

Wudd deletes directly

Wudd is the controller of the account-identity layer. We delete this data within 30 days, regardless of your employer.

  • Login credentials (email, password hash, multi-factor settings)
  • Profile photo and personal display name
  • Personal contact details you provided (phone, alternate email)
  • Push-notification tokens and device identifiers
  • Personal app preferences (locale, notification toggles)
  • Marketing-communication preferences and unsubscribe state
  • Analytics events keyed to your user ID (re-keyed to anonymous post-deletion)
Your employer reviews

Your employer organization is the controller of the workplace-data layer. We route the request to your employer's Wudd administrator and act on their decision. They may retain records they need to satisfy Saudi labour-law obligations, payroll-tied performance reviews, or active HR proceedings.

  • Recognitions you sent and received on Wudd
  • Tasks, goals, and OKR / KPI progress entries
  • Performance evaluations and promotion-engine signals
  • Succession-planning dossiers and hire-readiness signals
  • Badges granted to you, and the reward-store order history that flowed from them
  • Messages, group conversations, and files on Wudd Connect
  • Attendance, leave, and training records logged on Wudd
Retained by law

Saudi tax and labour law requires us, and your employer, to keep certain records for a fixed period, regardless of any deletion request. These records sit in restricted storage; they are not visible to the product or to your employer's day-to-day Wudd users.

  • Tax invoices and payment records (Saudi VAT, up to 6 years)
  • Employment-related audit logs your employer must keep under the Saudi labour system
  • Anonymised, aggregated analytics that cannot be linked back to you
  • Records subject to an active legal hold or regulatory inquiry
Timeline

What happens after you ask

We aim to acknowledge every request within 2 business days and complete our part of the deletion within 30 days, in line with the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL). The employer-reviewed portion may take longer depending on your employer's internal process.

  • Day 0

You submit the request (in-app or by email).

  • Within 2 business days

We acknowledge receipt and, if needed, ask one identity-verification question.

  • Within 7 days

We notify your employer's Wudd administrator that you have requested deletion of your workplace data. You stop receiving push notifications.

  • Within 30 days

Wudd-controlled identity data is permanently deleted from production systems. Your employer-controlled data is deleted to the extent your employer's administrator authorizes; the administrator contacts you with the specific scope.

  • Backup window

Backups are overwritten on their normal rotation (up to 90 days).

  • Up to 6 years

Tax records and Saudi labour-law audit logs remain in restricted storage; they are not accessible to product systems or to your employer's day-to-day users.

Questions

If you have any question about this process (including the status of a deletion request you have already submitted), write to hello@wudd.net. If your question is specifically about workplace data your employer controls, you may also raise it directly with your employer's Wudd administrator. Our postal address is Wudd, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
